Pass Line - If the player wants to bet that the point will be made, place a bet on the Pass Line before the Come Out Hand.
Come Line - Similar to the Pass Line except that the player makes the bet on the Come Line only after the Come Out Hand and a point is established. Players can make come bets on any and every draw after the point is established. Bets that are placed on the Come take the next draw of cards. If the next hand is a natural (7 or 11), come bet wins. If it is a craps (2, 3, or 12), the bet loses. Any other number becomes the playerÕs point for that bet and the bet is moved to that number. It will remain there until that point is made and that bet wins, or until the hand totals a 7, in which case the come bet loses. Come bets pay even money.
Don't Pass - If a player wants to bet the point will not be made, the player places their bet on the Don't Pass Line (also known as the Back Line) before the Come Out Hand. If the hand totals a 2 or 3 on the first draw, the bet wins. If the draw totals 7 or 11 on the first draw, the bet loses. If the draw is a 12, it is a Push (Tie). If the draw is any other number, it becomes the Point. A 7 must be drawn before this point is drawn again in order for the bet to win. If the point is drawn before a 7, the bet loses. Don't Pass bets may be removed at any time by asking the dealer to take them down.
Don't Come Line - Similar to the Don't Pass Line except that the player may only bet on the Don't Come Line after the Come Out Hand and a point is established. If the player wants to bet that the draw total won't pass on succeeding numbers after the hand has established a point, the player makes a bet on the section marked "Don't Come". Bets may be placed on this section on any or every draw of cards, but the bet applies to the next draw. If a 2 or 3 are drawn the bet wins. If a 7 or 11 are drawn the bet loses. If a 12 is drawn it is a push (tie). Should any other number be drawn, it becomes the "Don't Come Point". A 7 must be drawn before the "Don't Come Point" is drawn again for the bet to win.
Place Bets - If a player wants to bet the draw will total a specific number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10) before a draw of 7 instruct the dealer to place the bet on that number. The dealer will place the playerÕs bet on the number or numbers of their choice. The player can make or take down place bets at any time. The bets pay: 4 and 10 pay nine to five, 5 and 9 pay seven to five and 6 and 8 pay seven to six.
Buy Bets - These bets are similar to Place Bets but with slightly different odds. If the player wants to bet the draw will total a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 before a draw of a 7, inform the dealer which numbers) to buy. Usually a minimum bet of $20 is required for Buy Bets. The player must pay a charge (ÒVigÓ) of five percent of the wager to the Casino at the time the bet is made. Payoff odds for buy bets are true and correct odds - two to one on 4 and 10, three to two on 5 and 9 and six to five on 6 and 8. The player may buy or take down these bets at any time. If the player takes down a buy bet, the Vig will be returned to the player.
Lay or Buy Behind Bets - If a player wants to bet that the draw will not total a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 before a 7 is drawn, inform the dealer which number to lay or buy behind. The player must pay an added amount of five percent (ÒVigÓ) of the amount to be won to the Casino at the time the bet is made. Payoff odds for lay bets are true and correct odds - one to two on 4 and 10, two to three on 5 and 9, five to six on 6 and 8. The player may buy or take down these bets at any time. If a player takes down a lay bet, the Vig will be returned to the player.
One Hand Bets Ð High payout Proposition Bets placed by the dealer in the center of the layout. The payout amounts are located under the bet symbols.
Horn Bets Ð A bet that a 2, 3, 11 or 12 on the next draw total makes a horn bet. This is a One Hand Proposition Bet that pays high odds. The dealer will place these bets in the center of the layout.
One Hand Hard way and Hoping Bets - There are four "Hard Way" combinations: Hard 4 (2, 2), Hard 6 (3, 3), Hard 8 (4, 4), Hard 10 (5, 5). A one draw or "hopping" hard way is a bet that a specific hard way number will be drawn on the next draw of cards. These bets pay the same as a 2 or 12 and lose if any other number is drawn. A "HopÓ bet is another one hand bet that may be made on any specific combination of the cards from 4 through 10 with the exception of the hard ways. These bets pay the same as a 3 or 11.
Odds - Commonly known as "Front Line Odds" and "Back Line Odds". Players with line or come bets may add to their bet by making an additional bet called Odds. The Casino sets the dollar amount allowed and is usually a multiple of the line or come bet. By making an Odds bet, they are betting that the hand point will be made (Front Line or Come) or will not be made (Back Line or Don't Come). True and correct odds are paid: On the Front Line, 4 and 10 pay two to one, 5 and 9 pay three to two, 6 and 8 pay six to five. On the back line, 4 and 10 pay one to two, 5 and 9 pay two to three, 6 and 8 pay five to six.
